Matthew Soleimanpour

Matthew Soleimanpour’s practice focuses primarily on labor & employment law, commercial litigation, corporate law, and subrogation. He represents a broad range of clients across several industries, including general contractors, brokers, realtors, insurance carriers, software developers, and sporting goods manufacturers, from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses.
Mr. Soleimanpour has served as first chair trial counsel on multiple occasions, as well as represented clients in arbitrations, various administrative courts and appeals boards. His representative cases have been featured in the New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, NBC News, Politico, the San Diego Union Tribune and the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
Mr. Soleimanpour has been honored as a “Superlawyers – Rising Star” by Superlawyers Magazine, and holds an “A/V Preeminent Peer Review Rating,” the highest honor for legal ethics from Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Soleimanpour is also active in the community, as he has served on various executive boards and in leadership positions for several non-profit organizations.
Mr. Soleimanpour received his J.D. from The Ohio State University – Moritz College of Law, and his B.A. in English Literature from the University of San Diego.

Jordi Amavizca serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Soleiman, APC, where he plays a pivotal role in steering the firm's strategic direction, business development, and operational excellence. Jordi has been instrumental in driving growth, optimizing operations, and fostering innovative business solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients and stakeholders.
Before joining Soleiman APC, Jordi worked in fintech where he led efforts to penetrate new markets, significantly increase revenue, and build collaborative teams focused on achieving corporate objectives.
He is deeply committed to driving innovation, sustainability, and growth. His approach to business is characterized by a keen focus on technology adoption to drive operational efficiency and the cultivation of a positive corporate culture that puts people first.
Jordi holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Southern California.
Sheila Yazdi
Partner

Sheila Yazdi is the firm’s practice group leader in Workers’ Compensation Defense and a member of the firm’s nationwide Subrogation team. With over 15 years representing both public and private employers, Sheila consistently develops effective workplace policies to minimize costs associated with workers’ compensation claims, and in pursuing reimbursement in civil court via rights of subrogation She aggressively defends employers’ rights before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board in jurisdictions throughout California, from case inception through trial.
Sheila also counsels clients regarding state and federal employment laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, the American with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, and assists in the firm’s development of its onsite Best Practices Training Programs.
Sheila obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado - Boulder, and her J.D. from Seattle University.
Bradley Beherns

Bradley Beherns is a trial attorney with significant experience in the labor & employment legal sphere. His expertise spans traditional labor disputes, internal policy development, hiring and disciplinary matters, and contract negotiations.
Before joining the firm, Bradley held senior roles with various Southern California-based firms focusing on the representation of public and private sector unions, as well as in complex litigation and general liability issues. As Bradley has represented clients on both sides of the table, he provides a unique and thoughtful approach to the firm in the development of case strategies.
Bradley Beherns received his J.D. from California Western School of Law and his B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Minnesota.
Janet Ariza
Senior Counsel

Janet Ariza is a seasoned litigation attorney with deep experience in all phases of litigation. Her practice focuses on commercial and public entity defense in general liability and employment matters, and she has specific expertise in complex cases, catastrophic injuries, and special education. Prior to joining the firm, she served as an insurance claims examiner, supervisor and regional manager, and this experience gives her effective insurance coverage as well as large-scale litigation management efficiency.
Janet has represented clients on all sides of cases, giving her a well-rounded case management strategy. A skilled negotiator, she has settled thousands of claims throughout her career. Having started her practice in medical malpractice defense, she has maintained a lifelong interest in all things medical, and has a particular skillset in medical and technical issues and problem-solving.
Janet received her J.D. from the University of San Diego. She also graduated from the University of San Diego with a double-major in Spanish and English, as well as a Paralegal Certificate.
Wayne Dawson
Senior Counsel

Wayne is a versatile and seasoned litigation attorney who began his legal career working in-house at NationsBank, now Bank of America. He subsequently served as an Assistant Solicitor and Municipal Court Prosecutor for the City Court of Atlanta. In 2005, he held a similar role in Fort Worth, Texas, where he later opened his private practice, focusing on labor and employment law, as well as personal injury claims. Concurrently, he worked as Special Board Counsel for various Independent School Districts across Texas.
In 2018, Wayne resumed his public service career by joining the City Attorney’s Office for the City of Pearland as an Assistant Municipal Court Prosecutor. In 2022, Wayne became an EEOC Compliance Analyst for the State of Louisiana. In this role, he traveled extensively and participated in regional and national EEO Conferences. Throughout his career, Wayne has handled numerous bench and jury trials in state courts, both as a prosecutor and a private attorney.
Wayne graduated from Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans. He earned his B.A. from Tulane University with Honors in Political Science. Wayne lives in the Greater Houston area and loves spending time with his family and raising his five sons. In his free time, Wayne enjoys healthy eating, exercise, and travel.
Andrew Kosch

Andrew Kosch is an accomplished trial attorney, boasting a rich background in all phases of litigation. Andrew cut his teeth in criminal prosecution in Long Beach, California, and as a Deputy District Attorney in Tulare County, where he adeptly managed a wide spectrum of matters, from arraignment through trial and post-trial motions. Andrew's robust trial experience and his deep commitment to justice make him a valuable addition to the Soleiman APC team. His courtroom experience is second to none, bringing a highly functional skillset toward the firm’s civil trial practice, with a proficient focus on the voir dire process and evidentiary matters subject to appeal.
Andrew earned his Bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and his Law Degree from Trinity Law School.

Whether she is conducting high-stakes bench trials, navigating complex depositions, or drafting the motions that swing a case, Sabrina’s approach is defined by a deep-rooted commitment to professional excellence.
Before transitioning to her current role, Sabrina served as a Deputy Public Defender for the County of San Diego, representing indigent parents in juvenile dependency proceedings, and has represented various insurers and employers in Workers’ Compensation claims across California, handling all aspects of litigation at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. With a career built on daily courtroom appearances, Sabrina is a seasoned negotiator and litigator.
Sabrina obtained her undergraduate degree at Northern Arizona University and her J.D. at California Western School of Law.
Tiffany Hankerson

Tiffany Hankerson is a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation team with over 10 years of experience litigating workers’ compensation claims before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board in jurisdictions throughout California. Tiffany uses her experience of representing both defendants and applicants to provide a unique approach for prompt and efficient resolution of matters in the best interests of her clients. She also has experience representing employers in Serious and Willful Misconduct and Labor Code 132(a) claims.
Before joining the firm, Tiffany worked at a national law firm representing insurance carriers in all aspects of workers’ compensation claims. Prior to that, Tiffany worked at a boutique law office representing injured workers where she was responsible for handling claims from client intake to settlement.
Tiffany earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University, where she obtained an Honors Certificate in Public International Law. She received her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Economics from the University of California, Riverside.
Justin Lyn

Justin's practice focuses on defending tort and contract claims on behalf of a wide range of the firm's corporate clients and public entities. Justin has experience in all phases of litigation and arbitration, including consumer class actions and mass arbitrations.
Before joining the firm, Justin served as one of the first in-house litigators at Coinbase, Inc., where he helped establish the consumer litigation department for the company in its early stages as a startup through its transition to a public company. Prior to Coinbase, Justin worked at Lyft, where he helped launch the rideshare company's trust and safety team from the ground up as one of their earliest employees.
Justin attended the University of California, Santa Cruz for his undergraduate studies and earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco.
Saachi Keswani

Anna Buczek

Anna is a litigation and transactional attorney located in the San Francisco Bay Area and servicing the firm's California offices. Anna primarily counsels the firm's clients in business litigation, class actions, complex litigation, real estate and property, and employment law disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Anna was a veteran of several prominent defense litigation firms, and also served as a Judicial Clerk for Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng with the San Francisco Superior Court, where she affirmed her proficiency in developing researched opinions and bench briefs. Anna's distinct training and experience allows her to serve as an extraordinary asset to the firm's law and motion department.
Originally a native of Texas, Anna obtained her J.D. at the University of San Francisco School of Law and graduated with a Business Honors Certificate. Anna received her B.A. in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics from Texas Tech University.

Marina Sylvestri

Marina earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2025, graduating with a concentration in Employment Law. While at USD, she demonstrated significant leadership as the President of the Employment and Labor Law Society and the Vice President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society. She was also an active member of the Business Law Society.
During law school, Marina gained valuable in-house experience as an employment extern at AMN Healthcare and as a corporate legal intern at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. This practical experience complemented her academic focus, providing direct insight into both specialized employment law and broader corporate legal functions.
Prior to her legal studies, Marina received a Master of Science in Television and Production Management from Boston University in 2022. This education allowed her to work closely with top media executives and agencies. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Boston University’s College of Communication in 2020.
During her time at Boston University, Marina was a standout athlete on the Division 1 softball team, serving as a three-year captain and helping lead the team to three conference championships.

Ian Liu

Ian is a trial attorney with a practice focused on complex civil litigation. Ian approaches each matter with an eye toward how it would be tried, building the record early and pressing key issues before they reach the courtroom.
During law school, Ian served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael D. Wilson of the Supreme Court of Hawaiʻi, where he assisted in researching and drafting bench memoranda on appeals spanning criminal, civil, and constitutional matters.
Ian is admitted to practice before all California state courts, the federal district courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is also admitted to practice in North Carolina.
Angie Parisi

Angie Parisi has more than 25 years of experience in the legal industry, with a particular focus on litigation. She is especially adept in trial preparation, where she has developed the firm’s trial management system, including insights on jury demographic evaluation, jury selection, witness preparation, demonstrative exhibit development, and tracking of evidentiary rulings subject to appeal. She consults directly with the firm’s managing partner and its clients to identify business objectives, value perspective, and process inefficiencies so as to develop and implement solutions.
Angie also directs the firm’s nationwide subrogation practice, cultivating relationships with various attorneys in several states in an effort to broaden the firm’s national reputation in the subrogation industry.
Angie is at the forefront of the firm’s continued advancement toward new technology in the legal industry. As a regular attendee of various conferences regarding cutting-edge case management efficiencies and automation benefits, Angie provides Soleiman APC clients with cost-friendly services while maintaining the firm’s standards for consistently providing an exceptional work product.

Daniel Serrato has worked as a public auditor for one of the Big Four accounting firms, primarily serving companies in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. Daniel has experience working under the GAAP financial framework and a core knowledge of corporate controls in compliance with SOX. Additionally, Daniel has assisted clients with business combinations and initial public offerings (IPOs) throughout his tenure as a public auditor.
Daniel has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California, and is a CPA in California and a member of the AICPA.
